Busy week for Maidstone

It has been a busy week down at the Gallagher Stadium this week as Jay Saunders and Maidstone United begins to their squad on and off the pitch for the 2018/19 season.

Good news came when Captain Stuart Lewis agreed a deal to stay with the club for another year, he has been a mainstay of the team since joining the club, nothing up over 60 appearances since he signed. Jack Paxman and Michael Phillips have also agreed new deals this week with the club, as Pax himself enters his fifth straight season with the club.

Seth Nana Twumasi has also agreed to stay at the Gallagher for another season, Andre Coker is another player who has agreed terms for a further year at the club.

Saunders has also released players as he looks to shape his squad for what will hopefully be a promotion chasing campaign next season, with Tom Wraight and Harry Phipps leaving the club. Josh Hare is among a number of players also leaving the club along with Joe Anderson and Jai Reason, Magnus Okuonghae, Darius Osei, Delano Sam-Yorke and Reece Prestedge

Meanwhile Ollie Muldoon who signed for the club in September has been invited back to the club for pre-season and the chance to earn a deal with the club.

Off the pitch Saunders has also shaken up his back room staff as well with assistant manager Nicky Southall leaving his role, having joined the club in August 2014, he has been replaced by former Margate manager and first team coach at the Stones, Steve Watt who has taken up his new role as assistant manager having left Margate earlier this week following a two and a half year absence.
