Bromley v Margate preview
Bromley v Margate preview

Tuesday night sees the Kent Reliance Senior Cup Quarter Final between Bromley and Margate at Hayes Lane, as two sides from either side of the county battle it out for a semi final place in this year’s competition.

Admission has been lowered to ten pounds for adults and hopefully despite the freezing weather this will entice fans to attend.

National League Bromley go into the game having drawn 4-4 at Eastleigh on Saturday, a game that highlighted their attacking prowess and defensive flaws in equal proportion.

Bostik Premier Division side Margate recorded an impressive 3-2 win over Hendon at Hartsdown Park with two goals from veteran striker Frannie Collin.

The Gate have two ex-Bromley players in their ranks with Jay May and Dave Martin lining up in their attack.

Steve Watt’s side sit seventh in the table, just three points off the play offs and saw off Herne Bay 3-1 away to reach this stage, while Bromley are eighth in the National League, also one place from the play off places and defeated Ebbsfleet 1-0 away to get here.

This game is the first of two cup matches for Bromley this week as they travel to Hartley Witney on Saturday in the FA Trophy first round.

Ravens fans will be interested to see how Neil Smith approaches these two games and whether players who haven’t had much game time in recent weeks will be given a chance to play in one or both of the matches.
