Bromley v Eastleigh – Preview

Bromley return to National League action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Eastleigh at Hayes Lane, looking to continue their recent good run of form that has seen The Ravens unbeaten in five and pickup six wins out of the last eight games.

The impressive spell of results which started just before Christmas has seen Bromley rise from just above the relegation zone to eleventh, where they now sit on 40 points from 30 games.

Eastleigh make the trip up from Hampshire one place and six points ahead of The Ravens, having beaten Sutton Utd 3-2 at home last weekend. Manager Ben Strevens has seen his side make steady progressed since taking over from Andy Hessenthaler and he will be looking to repeat the 1-0 win The Spitfires recorded over Bromley at The Silverlake Stadium back in August thanks to an early Mark Yeates goal. Eastleigh will be looking to make a challenge for the top seven and a play off spot, which is just three points away

Manager Neil Smith spoke of a missed opportunity last Saturday when Bromley only managed a 1-1 draw away at Dover Athletic, who played for half an hour with nine men after two of their players were sent off in an incident that saw Ravens captain Jack Holland head butted. Adam Mekki was on target as the talented winger looks to get a good run of games under his belt following injury an lay off. A settled line up and style of play has been at the heart the resurgence for the Hayes Lane club with December signings JJ Hooper & Luke Coulson in excellent form.

This should be an entertaining, tough and close fought encounter with another 1,000+ gate expected at The Lane.
