Bromley v Barnet – Preview

After another late comeback at Maidenhead Utd on Saturday rescued a point for Bromley The Ravens return to Hayes Lane on Tuesday nightwhen they entertain Barnet in the National League.

Bromley scored two goals in injury time to grab a point at York Road on the weekend in even later and more dramatic circumstances than the previous week’s 2-2 draw at Wrexham. Frankie Sutherland came off the bench to slot home a penalty on 91minutes and then George Porter equalised on 94. The result left Neil Smith’s side in fourteenth with 10pts from 8 games.

Barnet make the trip across London having won 2-1 at Dover on Saturday, John Still’s men are now finding their feet under their new manager following relegation from the Football league in May and have moved up to thirteenth place with 11pts from 8 matches played.

With a vastly experienced manager at this level in Still and having been promoted into the football league from non-league’s top flight on three previous occasions, The Bees are hoping to bounce straight back this season.

Bromley are still missing four players with injury in Adam Mekki, Kyle Da Silva, Jack Holland and Alan Dunne, but despite this they have picked up some creditable points away from home and have built a strong home record, which had not always been the case in previous campaigns.

Smith praised his side’s spirit following the Maidenhead game and said he looks forward to the test on Tuesday night in what should be a close fought encounter at The Lane.
