More progress for Bromley

Bromley’s pre-season continued in positive fashion with a 4-0 win away at SCEFL Premier Division side Beckenham Town on Saturday.

First half goals from Louis Dennis (pen), George Porter and Josh Rees plus a second half strike from Brett Williams secured the win against their old friends three miles down the road.

The Ravens have two more local games this week travelling to Erith & Belvedere on Tuesday and Glebe on Wednesday. Neil Smith will be fielding mixed sides in both matches including first team, trialist and academy players.

The club have broken all records for season ticket sales this season selling over 400 and on Friday night all season ticket holders were invited down to Hayes Lane to collect their tickets and attend a meet the management session with Neil Smith, Mark Hammond, Glyn Shimmel, Alan Dunne and Jack Holland.

Smith set out his vision for the season and spoke of how excited he was about the squad he is building and the blend of youth and experience. There are two spaces left to fill to make the squad up to the target of eighteen, which will be topped up by promising players in the academy set up, such as Aiden Enver who made his debut at Gateshead last season.

Mark Hammond spoke about the academy set up with all teams from Under sixes to eighteens  feeding into each other along with partnerships with The Ravensbourne School on Hayes Lane and Universities in the UK and America.

Work on the new 3G pitch continues with the lines having been laid out and new perimeter fencing. Progress is all looking good for the first game on it against Crystal Palace on 29th July.
