Bromley 1-0 Bath City

It was a tale of two penalties at Hayes Lane with the visitors missing and the home side scoring their respective spot kicks to settle this tight game between two evenly matched teams.Bromley-20141018-00466

Bromley got off to a positive start with Moses Ademola forcing a save from Jason Mellor, before he then set up Pierre-Joseph-Dubois who fired into the side netting at the near post.

Louis Dennis was also denied by Mellor as The Ravens pressed, before Bath battled their way back into the game. Dave Pratt had an effort ruled out for offside before on 37 minutes and City were awarded a penalty when Seb Brown brought down Nic McCootie in the box as the striker tried to take the ball round him.

The Ravens keeper was lucky to only be shown a yellow card and Bromley received another let off when Pratt hit the post with his effort.

Ademola went close soon after and Pratt fired wide for Bath when well placed just before the break with the fragile home defence one again opened up by some slick passing.Bromley-20141018-00464

The second half saw Bromley do the pressing, Louis Dennis had an effort saved and Reece Prestedge went close before The Ravens were awarded a penalty after Dennis was pushed challenging for an Ugo Udoji  cross.

Jordan Robertson powerfully despatched the spot kick for 1-0 on the hour, giving Mellor no chance.

Bath immediately had a penalty shout turned down at the other end when Brown collided with Pratt, while Bromley created further chances with Dennis and Ademola denied by Mellor after strong runs at the defence.

Dubois had a goal ruled out for offside, Adam Bailey-Dennis missed a header from a corner and new boy Mitchell Pinnock also forced a save from Mellor as Bromley finished the game on top.Bromley-20141018-00465
