Going into the game The Ravens were hit by the loss of keeper Alan Julian to illness and they only managed to secure the duties of stand in custodian Ben McNamara a few hours before kick off.

The National League newcomers faced a hard enough task against Premier League opposition without this extra problem to deal With.

Alan Pardew started with Wilfred Zaha, Dwight Gayle & Patrick Bamford in attack and they immediately caused Bromley problems.

After McNamara had made a good save Palace took the lead on 3 minutes when Sullay Kaikai finished smartly.

Four minutes later Bamford made it 2-0 with a low drive and Gayle fired over soon after as The Ravens looked rattled.

Bromley settled for a spell, but then Palace stepped things up again with Zaha and Gayle going close before Bamford made it 3-0 on 16 minutes beating McNamara at his near post.

Bromley’s first effort came on 20 minutes when Brad Goldberg fired wide from ten yards.

Palace went 4-0 up on 21 minutes when Bamford converted a great cross from Christian Scales. Goldberg had an effort saved by Alec McCartney after good work by Moses Emmanuel, but The Eagles continued to press.

Gayle made it 5-0 on 32 minutes with a great finish from the edge of the box. Late in the half Joe Ledley had a powerful drive tipped over and Gayle headed over when well placed, but The Ravens held out and went in trailing by five.

Keshi Anderson was just off taget, before Bromley had a strong spell with Dennis crossing for Alex Wall who headed against the bar.

Late on Adiene Guedioura shot wide after Bromley gave the ball away inmidfield, Scales had a cross shot tipped over by McNamara and Guedioura then hit the bar as The Eagles ran out comfortable winners.
