Ajose heads out on loan

Nicky Ajose has ‎joined home town club, Bury, on a season long loan.

Ajose joined the Addicks from Swindon a year ago, but has never really settled at The Valley. Russell Slade did not seem a huge fan, and Karl Robinson allowed the striker to rejoin Swindon on loan in January.
He scored 5 goals in 15 games for the Wiltshire club, and had peviously netted 6 times in 17 league starts for Charlton.
Ajose joined the Addicks after scoring 24 goals in League One from 38 games for Swindon in the 2015/16 season.
He is a former Manchester United trainee who, in a previous loan spell with Bury, scored 13 goals in 22 league games for the Shakers.
‎It was hard to see how Ajose would have fitted into Karl Robinson’s favoured 4-2-3-1 system, so the deal probably suits both parties.
Here is what the manager had to say about the move:
“Nicky came in and worked hard in pre-season. I sat down with him and he said this was something he wanted, so I told him I wasn’t going to stand in his way.”
‎Ajose was a high earner and freeing up some of his wages should allow Robinson more leeway to add to his squad.
