Addicks to miss out on Bent
Addicks to miss out on Bent

Darren Bent is a target for Brighton according to Sky Sports.

Bent has never really figured in Paul Lambert’s plans and if Villa can recoup a sizeable portion of Bent’s wages, they would probably be willing to loan him out.

Many would like to see Bent return to The Valley. The problem is, he does not seem to be the player he once was and there are worries about his desire.

The Tooting born striker is now 30-years-old and spent last season on loan at Fulham. Bent notched just 3 goals in 24 appearances whilst at Craven Cottage.

Brighton’s Under-21 side will visit Park View Road on Wednesday to play Charlton in the Under-21 Premier League Cup.

Charlton fielded a strong side in the previous round against AFC Wimbledon and are likely to do so again.

The Addicks are likely to include their quartet of players who have made first team appearances -Karlan Ahearne-Grant, Joe Gomez, Harry Lennon and the recently returned Joe Pigott – plus those on the periphery of Bob Peeters’ squad, such as Jack Munns and Terrell Thomas.

It is a game that Jason Euell would dearly love to win and it should be an entertaining encounter.
