Addicks set for crucial run in
Addicks set for crucial run in

When the fixtures are released, fans naturally focus on the opening games, but those in the game concentrate their attention on the closing games of the season.

These are the games that will ultimately decide a club’s fate. Often April is the busiest month of the season, though that will not be the case this season.

Easter comes early in 2018, and the Addicks will
travel to Northampton on Saturday 31 March, and entertain Rotherham on Easter Monday, 2 April.

While the Cobblers may have a difficult season, the Millers have made some astute signings and will expect to do well.

On 7 April Charlton will travel to the Memorial Ground to face Bristol Rovers, buoyed by the memory of their 5-1 win there last season.

The following Saturday Scunthorpe will visit The Valley, and a week later the Addicks will travel to Portsmouth.

The Iron may struggle to match last season’s achievements, while newly promoted Pompey are fancied to have a good season by many.

The Valley will stage its last game of the season against promotion favourites Blackburn on 28 April.

Rovers have a strong squad, but may find adjusting to life in League One difficult.

The curtain will come down on the season at Rochdale on the first Saturday in May.

Certainly not the easiest of run-ins, but Karl Robinson will be confident that if his team is there or thereabouts, they will be good enough to get over the line.
