Addicks set for big windfall?
There were stories over the weekend linking former Charlton starlet, Joe Gomez, with a £10m switch to Bournemouth.

Gomez moved from The Valley to Liverpool in the summer of 2015 for £3.5m. After a bright start at Anfield, the Catford born defender was sidelined for 15 months with an ACL injury.

Gomez, who will be 20 later this month, has struggled to get back in Jurgen Klopp’s team.

The youngster may be allowed to join Eddie Howe’s team on a season long loan, or Klopp may decide to cash in and look elsewhere for a replacement.

A permanent move would suit the Addicks, they have a good sell-on clause, and would receive a seven figure sum if the deal goes through.

Sheffield United are set to complete the £300,000 signing of dangerous Hartlepool winger, Nathan Thomas, this week.

Thomas had his medical at Bramall Lane on Saturday, and scored 9 goals in 34 appearances for Pool this season.

The signing will probably end speculation linking Ricky Holmes to the Blades. Holmes is likely to sign a new deal at The Valley, but has been subject to rumours that he would be reunited with his former boss, Chris Wilder, at Bramall Lane.

There did not seem much substance to the rumours, and it would have been more likely that the deal would have happened a year ago.

Karl Robinson mentioned in his press conference after the Swindon game, that there were two players in the stands that were on his wish list.

One of them was Rangers full-back, Lee Hodson, & it was anticipated that he would sign in the following few days.

Nothing has happened thus far, and it remains to be seen if the deal is just delayed, or if there has been a change of heart by one of the parties.
