Addicks move for Arsenal defender
There are strong rumours linking Charlton with Arsenal Defender, Krystian Bielik.

Bielik may have been the player Johnnie Jackson was referring to when he mentioned a possible arrival at The Valley before the weekend.

Bielik is a similar type of player to Ezri Konsa, he is a right-sided central defender who can also play the defensive midfield role.

He joined the Gunners from Legia Warsaw, and has had loan spells at Birmingham and Walsall. Bielik suffered a shoulder injury whilst playing for the Saddlers last season.

He is 20-years-old and cost Arsenal £2,400,000 when he moved to the Emirates in 2015, but thus far, he has only made two substitute appearances in the League Cup for his parent club.

Bielik is the type of player Lee Bowyer has been looking for, and it would be no surprise if the move went through.

Jason Euell’s Under-23 side drew 1-1 with Crewe at Gresty Road on Wednesday afternoon, thanks to a 49th minute equaliser from Luke Carey.

Skipper, Brendan Sampong-Wiredu, and Alfie Doughty made substitute appearances against MK Dons the previous evening. Ashley Maynard-Brewer and Toby Stevenson were also on the bench at Stadium MK.

Charlton: Maynard-Brewer; Zemura, Quitirna, Rich, Stevenson, Sarpong-Wiredu, Ocran, Carey, Junior, Doughty.

Subs: Anderson, Osaghae, Moore, Isiaka, Oddy.

Referee: D McNamara.
