Addicks bring in Palermo striker

The Addicks completed their third signing of the summer on Tuesday afternoon, when Palermo striker, Simon Makienok, joined on a season long loan.

Charlton have an option to buy the striker if he proves to be a success at The Valley.

The giant frontman – he is 6’7″ tall – will give Championship defences plenty of problems in the forthcoming season. It would be wrong to think of him as just an aerial threat though, Makienok is accomplished on the deck as well.

The Dane scored 35 goals in his 74 appearances for Brondby, before switching to the Serie ‘A’ side.

Guy Luzon will be looking for a good goal ratio from his new recruit, who will wear the number 9 shirt at The Valley.

German central defender, Patrick Bauer, is 6’4″ and El-Hadji Ba is also over 6’0″, so the Addicks will have a new dimension in the season ahead.
