Charlton, as expected, completed the signing of talented Arsenal youngster, Krystian Bielik‎, on a season long loan on Thursday.

Bielik is 20-years-old and is a central defender who can also operate as a holding‎ midfield player. He will be an ideal replacement for Ezri Konsa.

Lee Bowyer was pleased his perseverance paid off and said this after the deal was completed:

“He is someone that can protect the back four. He’s good on the ball, strong and he’s someone that can fill in at centre-half as well.

“He’s a bit like Ez (Ezri Konsa), he can comfortably play in both positions. He’s obviously good on the ball, you don’t play for Arsenal unless you can play, so I know he’s going to be another great addition to the squad.

“I couldn’t tell you how many phone calls Steve Gallen made to Arsenal to try and get this one over the line. It’s been going on for a while now, so we’re delighted to get him here.

“Obviously, there were other clubs involved trying to get him, like all the others that we’re trying to bring in so he’s no exception but that’s what happens when you are trying to bring in good players.”

Bielik is likely to start on the bench at Accrington on Saturday.

The original Accrington Stanley were founder members of the Football League. The club folded in 1962, but John Coleman has inspired amazing success for the reincarnation of the club.

Reaching League One is an incredible achievement for Stanley, and Coleman will be striving to maintain their status.

Bowyer will have to decide whether to stick with Dillon Phillips or give new signing, Jed Steer, a start in goal.

He does not have too many options elsewhere, and could go with this line-up:

Phillips; Solly, Bauer, Sarr, Page; Lapslie, Aribo, Pratley, Marshall; Taylor, Grant.

Subs: Steer, Dijksteel, Bielik, Morgan,‎ Hackett-Fairchild, Ajose.

The referee will be Ross Joyce from Cleveland.

This will be the first ever encounter between the two clubs, and Bowyer will expect to take three points from the game.
